I love the Utah Pride Festival - it's a celebration of what makes us different and a recognition of how we are the same. This wonderful, colorful weekend stood in sharp contrast to the Supreme Court's cake ruling released today.

After reading the opinion, though, I remain optimistic and hopeful. The inappropriate comments of the commission hurt this case, but Justice Kennedy states that "gay persons and gay couples cannot be treated as... inferior in dignity and worth." The core value of accepting every American- from every walk of life- stands strong.
